Wedding receptions often have a Master of Ceremonies (MC), a key person for tying everything together so that your Big Day runs smoothly.
This role is sometimes handed to the Best Man, or another close friend of the Groom or the Bride, but it could also be someone involved in the coordination of the wedding (like us!), as the task usually requires a deeper knowledge of your Big Day’s schedule.
The role of the MC is simple but extremely important. It consists mainly in the making of few clear and loud announcements, such as welcoming the Bride and Groom into the dining area or introducing the speeches, as the day progresses.
The MC is also responsible for liaising with the function coordinator and the reception venue to make sure they are prepared for upcoming activities (for example, that all the food has been served before the cut of the cake).
